Joey Mafia “In the Valley”

Hello, my name is Michael Forsythe, artist manager at Hometeam Records, LLC. Our artist Joey Mafia released his “In the Valley LP” on April 20th for free on Datpiff, and on May 1st released the “In the Valley (Deluxe Edition)” available to stream on Spotify and purchase on iTunes. I am writing to discuss any opportunities for blog placement, or other services you may offer. I have been a fan of your blog since first gaining interest in the hip-hop blog community. Independent artists often struggle to gain any type of coverage in this over saturated industry. However your blog showcases real hip-hop from underground artists on a platform they would otherwise not have.

Joey Mafia is a nineteen year old rapper and producer from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. Drawing heavy influence from artists such as Big L, DJ Premier, and Nas, he is putting a new spin on old school hip-hop. His “In the Valley LP” and the deluxe edition of the album feature his signature aggressive delivery over nineties inspired boom bap beats. Other Hometeam Records artists Big Al Swagg and A Mazdah contribute verses to multiple songs that play perfect balance to the style of Joey Mafia. Although mostly self produced, “In the Valley” also includes beats from A Mazdah and Caddy Mike to provide a fresh sound and change of pace to the album.

The singles “Show Out” and “Warm Vibes” (click title for official music video) have both gained the attention of various blogs and internet radio stations both nationally and internationally. Reviews are coming in for “In the Valley”, including one by SNVLife Magazine which stated “We live in an era of the mumble rap so it makes me happy to hear young kids being lyrical and paying respect to the ones before them”. Joey Mafia is on a mission to bring hip-hop back to its essence and people are noticing. I appreciate you taking your time to listen and look forward to speak with you going forward. Thank you.
